Accounting Operations Supervisor

Overview

An established insurance organization is seeking Accounting Operations Supervisors to lead a team delivering accurate, timely, and well-controlled transaction processing and accounting support. This is a 6-month contract with the opportunity to convert to full-time. You'll set clear expectations, manage weekly execution, and drive process improvements that strengthen performance and the control environment.

What You'll Do

• Supervise, coach, and develop a team of accounting operations professionals, setting clear goals and evaluating performance
• Assign, direct, and review work based on team skills to maintain workflow and productivity
• Communicate effectively with internal and external partners, adapting your style to the audience
• Explain and reinforce policies and procedures to ensure understanding and compliance
• Analyze current processes and apply improvement methods to solve problems and increase effectiveness
• Resolve complex operational issues using critical thinking and a view of broader business impact
• Set targets, prioritize work, monitor results, and take action to meet and improve department outcomes

What You Bring

• 6 years of professional experience in accounting or finance
• Experience leading and coaching a team in accounting operations, finance operations, or transaction processing
• Proven ability to assign and review work, manage priorities, and deliver weekly operational objectives
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain policies and procedures clearly
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including implementing process changes with broad operational impact

Nice to Have

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• Experience leading process improvement initiatives
• Background in controlled financial operations environments
• Insurance industry experience

Pay: From $38.00 per hour
