Food Services Cook

 

Prepares and cooks food for high school cafeteria program. Performs directly related work as required. The principal function of an employee in this class is to cook and prepare all meals in a quality and timely fashion. The work is performed under the supervision and direction of the Food Services Manager II, but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The class is distinguished from the class of Cook I by being assigned to a senior high school kitchen and assuming duties of the Food Service Manager II in his/her absence. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with other kitchen employees, administration, faculty, and students. The principal duties of this class are performed in a high school kitchen.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Graduation from high School or possession of a GED.
  • Some experience in food service.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Evaluation:
Evaluation of this position shall be by the Food Service Manager.

 

Starting Pay:

$16.50
