POSITION SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to perform basic setup and/or maintenance of tooling and equipment in order to support manufacturing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety
- Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines
- Know emergency procedures and what to do in the event of power outages, machine failures, workplace injuries, etc.
- Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Understand and identifies Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
- Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately
- Actively participates in the D&W safety improvement process/activities, e.g. Hazard Identification, Safety Suggestions, Safety Teams, etc.
Task
- Completes all required documentation pertaining to setups and removing dies
- Maintain and provide general maintenance of the dies/presses
- Guides Machine Operators on troubleshooting efforts
- Follow plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices, or GMP’s
- Ability to set/insert/remove molds and/or dies
- Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards
- Maintains his or her work area in a neat condition
- Mold and trim die preparation
- Inspect and/or clean molds and return them to storage racks
- Performs tool changes and final adjustments
- Performs troubleshooting and adjustment of processing problems
- Support company Food Safety efforts through commitment and compliance to SQF standard practices and policies
QUALIFICATIONS
1.Willingness to work and follow verbal/written instructions
2. Basic computer skills
3. Must be able to read, write and speak English
4. Forklift certification may be required
5. Read blue prints and other necessary documentation
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR LICENSING/CERTIFICATION
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this position employee may be exposed to extreme heat, moving mechanical parts and products with sharp edges. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Starting Pay: $28 - $33 based on experience
Shift Differential: 2nd shift - $1.25
Sign-On Bonus: $750
Referral Bonus: $1,000
