ABOUT THE ROLE: TEMPORARY REPORTING SPECIALIST (PART-TIME)
The temporary part‑time Reporting Specialist provides technical support focused on data collection, analysis, synthesis, and results‑based reporting for assigned projects. The position supports program teams by strengthening the quality, organization, and use of quantitative and qualitative monitoring data to ensure accurate, evidence‑based reporting. The role is primarily engaged during implementation, close‑out and reporting periods and contributes to preparation of high‑quality reports, annexes, and evidence tables aligned with approved MEL frameworks and donor reporting requirements.
This is a temporary part-time position anticipated to end on September 30, 2026. The Reporting Specialist is expected to work up to 20 hours per week, with at least one day per week in-office. This position is located in Washington, DC.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Collecting, Synthesis and Reporting Support - 100%
- Support collection, organization, and consolidation of qualitative and quantitative monitoring data for programs, as assigned, in preparation for reporting.
- Review MEL documentation and data sources, including theories of change, objectives, indicators, workplans, quarterly reports, and existing monitoring datasets.
- Analyze and synthesize monitoring data to assess progress toward objectives and intermediate results within and across assigned projects.
- Support results focused reporting by:
- Synthesizing evidence related to outputs, outcomes, and progress toward objectives
- Ensuring consistency between reported results, indicators, and theories of change
- Developing analytical inputs for results narratives, annexes, and evidence tables
- Coordinating and leading internal and external reflection sessions in preparation for quarterly and final reporting processes.
- Produce and refine tables, figures, and basic data visualizations that clearly communicate results, trends, and evidence related to programming.
- Revise analytical content and data products based on consolidated internal feedback to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with reporting standards.
- Lead quarterly and final report writing processes in coordination with the program and monitoring, evaluation and learning teams.
- Coordinate closely with program staff, MEL colleagues, and report drafters to ensure analytical outputs directly inform quarterly and final reports.
- Support data quality efforts by reviewing data for completeness, coherence, and internal consistency.
- Backstop monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) and program team members on related data and reporting tasks, as needed.
- Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We seek a passionate and experienced individual with:
- Undergraduate degree in political/social science, international relations, international development, or a related field. Graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum three years of professional experience in the international development sector, with at least one year of experience in MEL‑related roles.
- Demonstrated experience working with quantitative and qualitative monitoring data.
- Strong understanding of results frameworks, indicators, and theory‑of‑change‑based reporting.
- Experience analyzing and synthesizing data for donor or external reports.
- Ability to develop clear analytical text, tables, and evidence summaries.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a matrix environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Familiarity with qualitative or quantitative data analysis software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, Stata, NVivo, Dedoose) preferred.
- Experience working on democracy and governance programs and/or USG‑funded projects preferred.
- Experience working on Venezuela or Latin America programs preferred.
IRI TOTAL COMPENSATION
The anticipated compensation range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 USD.
The salary for this position is determined based on a wide variety of factors including but not limited to an individual’s professional experience, qualifications, education and other business needs along with internal equity considerations. Employees are not typically hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are made based on the aforementioned considerations.
Due to this role being part-time and temporary (anticipated for six months or less), it is not benefit eligible.
