Boat Operator/ Diving Operations

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Active SECRET security clearance; U.S. citizenship required
• Qualified and experienced boat operator; must hold or obtain appropriate U.S. Coast Guard or equivalent qualification for operation of small craft in the DV-3 and DV-6 size class
• Valid State of Florida driver's license (or ability to obtain) and compliance with NSAPCFLINST 5560.2D and OPNAVINST 5100.12J for vehicle/equipment operation on Government property
• Demonstrated experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of small marine vessels and associated onboard equipment
• Experience supporting diving operations or SDV test and evaluation in a military or Government contractor environment
• Ability to maintain thorough maintenance records and documentation
• Strong troubleshooting skills; ability to perform minor hardware repairs and coordinate corrective actions in the field
• Must register in U.S. Navy TWMS and complete all mandatory Government training requirements
• Must read and understand English; conduct that is professional, courteous, and businesslike at all times on Government facilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Qualified operation of SDV chase and support boats including DV-3, DV-6, and Navy Catamaran, as well as replacement or substitute craft in similar classes
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on surface support craft and onboard equipment to ensure mission readiness
• Retain accurate maintenance records for all chase and support boats in accordance with program requirements
• Provide test and evaluation support for SDV systems and equipment including diving equipment, specialized test gear, supplies, and incidental materials as required by applicable test plans
• Conduct component testing, pre-installation testing, pre-operational testing, and operational testing in accordance with NSWC PCD-accepted test practices and procedures
• Participate in fielding events and planning meetings; perform pre-mission checks as needed for deployed systems
• Provide on-site support including troubleshooting, minor vehicle/hardware repairs, software or firmware installation, and submission/updating of fielding procedures and Failure Analysis Reports (FARs)
• Assemble installation kits, checkout kits, pack-up kits, and logistics support kits needed to maintain Fleet readiness
• Support Depot-level functions including disassembly, troubleshooting, repair, and reassembly of manned submersible components as directed
• Travel to CONUS and OCONUS deployment locations as required to support fleet fielding and test events
• Report all Fleet support and T&E activities in the Contract Status Report (CDRL A028)
• Comply with zero safety incidents standard for all test operations and fleet support activities per performance AQL requirements
