Driver/Furniture Loader

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Driver/Furniture Loader to join our logistics team. This role involves safely operating various types of delivery vehicles, including box trucks and personal vehicles, to transport furniture and other goods efficiently and securely. The successful candidate will be responsible for loading, unloading, and delivering items while providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicles such as box trucks and personal vehicles for delivery routes.
• Load and unload furniture and goods using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment like pallet jacks.
• Ensure all items are securely loaded to prevent damage during transit.
• Deliver products directly to customers’ locations while adhering to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
• Assist with warehouse operations, including moving inventory and organizing storage areas.
• Use mobile devices for route navigation, delivery documentation, and communication.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle inspections.
• Follow safe lifting practices during manual handling tasks involving heavy or bulky items.
• Communicate professionally with customers, providing excellent service throughout the delivery process.
• Adhere strictly to traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during all driving activities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in warehouse operations, delivery driving, or moving services preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving or courier services is advantageous.
• Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles such as box trucks.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently using proper manual handling techniques.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, traffic laws, and weight handling in the workplace.
• Familiarity with material handling equipment like pallet jacks is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in route planning and delivery documentation.
• Excellent customer service skills with professional communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
