PORTER
Job Title: Porter
Department: Housekeeping
Hours: PART TIME: EVERY OTHER WEEKEND: 1PM-9PM
Position Start Date: 12/8/2025
Description:
- Ability to follow cleaning schedules and instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established policies and procedures.
- Ability to perform basic maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by sweeping, snow/ice removal, etc. as necessary.
- Ability to replace burned out light bulbs, including exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc., as necessary.
- Ability to perform cleaning procedures (such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal, washing as required and in accordance with facility policy.
- Ability to follow established safety procedures, Infection Control, and Universal
Precautions when performing porter tasks.
- Requirements:
- Compliance with applicable health laws and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations.
- Previous experience in a Long Term Care Facility preferred
- High School Diploma preferred
- Ability to speak read and write English.
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day.
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthesis that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met
- Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
- Must be able to lift and move residents, equipment, supplies, etc. in excess of fifty (50) pounds.
