What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Intern position at Job Carr Cabin Museum?
The Job Carr Cabin Museum is a replica of Job Carr's log cabin, originally built in 1864/65, as the first permanent non-native residence in Tacoma. The Museum houses interpretive historical displays and artifacts from Tacoma's early days. Educational history programs and tours are provided for school children, educators, history buffs, community residents and visitors to our city.

We are seeking part-time college or university interns to help us bring Tacoma history to life.
Internship projects are available in several subject areas - museum studies, history, education, performing arts, marketing, social media and technology.
Possibilities include
We welcome volunteers of all ages, interests and skill levels. Mentorship and training provided. School credit available. Internships are designed for college and university students. High school students are also welcome to volunteer with the museum.
The museum is open Fridays and Saturdays in Old Town, Tacoma. All volunteers must successfully pass a security background check. http //www.jobcarrmuseum.org

- Historical research for publication and museum exhibit development
- Collect Oral Histories from people in Old Town and prepare for storage and public use.
- Digitize and organize artifacts and museum information.
- Create a social media plan and help us implement effective social media strategies.
