Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and dependable Truck Driver to operate commercial vehicles across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting freight safely and efficiently while adhering to all federal and state regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of logistics cargo handling, vehicle operation, and safety protocols to ensure timely deliveries and maintain the highest standards of compliance. The Truck Driver will play a vital role in supporting our logistics operations, ensuring customer satisfaction through reliable service.
Duties
- Operate tractor-trailers, including flatbeds, and dry vans, across designated routes
- Load and unload freight safely using manual handling techniques and proper equipment
- Navigate using GPS navigation systems to reach delivery destinations efficiently
- Transport hazardous materials and dangerous goods in compliance with Hazardous Materials Regulations and FMCSA standards
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT regulations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with FMCSA regulations
- Follow route schedules for delivery driving while maintaining safety standards at all times
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery status, delays, or issues during transit
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations during operation of commercial trucks
- Ensure proper documentation for automobile transportation, freight handling, and cargo tracking
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for tractor-trailer operation
- Must have a TWIC Card
- Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving experience
- Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and Hazardous Materials Regulations (Hazmat) preferred
- Experience operating flatbeds, tankers, or other specialized equipment is a plus
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks and handle manual loading/unloading tasks
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and navigation
- Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling, truck loading/unloading procedures, and freight management
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check in accordance with DOT policies
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety compliance under DOT standards
- Ability to handle hazardous materials safely when required
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) and perform manual handling tasks as needed
