Property Damage Specialist I
Job Summary:
As member of our team, you will play a vital role in managing and investigating incoming claims from Communication, Gas and Electric clients across the United States. Your exceptional communication skills (written and verbal), diligence, and ability to multitask will ensure a seamless process for our clients on their path of claims recovery for property damage losses. This position is a remote, full-time, overnight and weekend position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate and respond to damage reports via telephone calls and email notifications while determining the appropriate investigation approach for our nationwide clients.
- Dispatch and assign claims to field and remote personnel based on market area and complexity of the damage event.
- Establish new files/claims through data entry and by interfacing with multiple applications to complete damage reports.
- Conduct initial remote research of reported utility and communication damage, with accuracy and detailed notes.
- Review, coach and secure from on-site client personnel the information required to document the service outage and damage event.
- Prepare final damage reports for events involving fire, police, and hazmat agencies to secure governmental reports, witness statements, and photographs.
- Develop professional relationships with clients, contractors, and personnel through regular communication and virtual meetings.
- Collect and process investigation materials using proprietary software.
- Utilize knowledge of excavation processes and related dig laws.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient claim processing.
- Assist with additional department projects during low-volume periods.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and current insurance and reliable transportation (if applicable)
- Must have smart phone capabilities to ensure claims processing ability.
- Pass a complete background check and drug test.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and overall computer skills.
- Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines simultaneously
- Meticulous with strong organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Google Maps and GPS.
- Ability to type approximately fifty words per minute.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision.
- Must have smart phone capabilities to ensure claims dispatch or processing ability.
