Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy-duty diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, alignment, shocks & struts replacement, and general vehicle upkeep.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues accurately.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, power tools, and hand tools to meet specific repair needs.
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during maintenance or repair procedures.
- Inspect farm machinery, industrial equipment, and heavy trucks for wear or damage; perform necessary repairs to ensure safety compliance.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all repairs performed; ensure adherence to safety protocols at all times.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with heavy equipment or truck repair highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and vehicle electrical systems.
- Skilled in automotive diagnostics using schematics and electronic testing tools.
- Experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering for custom repairs or modifications.
- Proficiency in operating power tools, hand tools, lifting equipment, and heavy machinery such as excavators or forklifts.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients about repair needs or issues.
