JN Contracting has an opportunity for a Multifamily/Commercial Estimator to establish themselves with a growing company offering the potential for future personal growth and advancement opportunities. JN Contracting is a rapidly growing general contractor looking for a self-driven talented Estimator who has aspirations for advancement to perform the following:
JOB DESCRIPTION
As an Estimator you will work with the Lead Estimator to develop cost models, preliminary budgets, GMP estimates, and Lump Sum bids in effort to develop and secure projects. You will meet regularly with your manager to review the progress of the ongoing job and to discuss problems that are outside of your authority. You will be responsible overseeing construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures and company policies.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
· Be well versed across all scopes, systems, and assemblies including site work, concrete, structural, wood framing, enclosure, finishes, plumbing, fire protection, mechanical, and electrical.
· Reading and interpreting specifications and plans
· Conducting quantity surveys and take-offs
· Estimate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
· Determining requirements and planning procedures
· Discuss scopes of work with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure their bid covers the scope of work.
· Analyzing worker and production problems
JOB REQUIREMENTS
As a Multifamily/Commercial Estimator you must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications; conduct quantity surveys and take offs and solicit prospective subcontractors for bids. You are expected to get along well with others and actively engage with the team. You must be able to exercise sound judgment and communicate well with your team, co-workers, management, and clientele.
Other requirements of the Multifamily/Commercial Estimator include:
· High school diploma or GED
· Associate degree in construction management or equivalent combination of training and work experience
· Experience with multifamily and/or commercial construction
· Experience estimating multifamily projects is a plus
· Strong knowledge of construction means and methods
· Excellent problem solving and communication skills
· Experience using Procore Estimating suite is a plus
