Position: Mechanic
Location: Billings
Reports to: Branch Manager
JMS is looking to add an experienced full-time Mechanic to our growing Branch. The following are a list of requirements; You must meet all the requirements below to be considered for this position. Summary: The mechanic will perform maintenance and repairs on cranes, forklifts, and other various equipment. Follows all State and Federal laws while operating motor vehicles. Follows all safety and environmental policies while performing job tasks. Candidate shall be able to perform inspections, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of various Crane/Truck equipment including mobile cranes. (all terrain, rough terrain, boom trucks, etc.) Must have experience as a mechanic with electrical and hydraulics in modern crane technology.
Responsibilities:
- Supply your own tools with up to date tool inventory (We have a variety of specialty tools in the shop)
- Must be able to perform scheduled maintenance cranes, forklifts, and other various equipment
- Must be able to document all maintenance and repairs performed on the equipment and file records properly.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to quality
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Understand electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits a plus
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends at the shop
- Must be able to verbally communicate Safety issues to Customers and co-workers on location before and during job task.
- Reports to Supervisor and/or Lead Mechanic on completion of assigned job task for next assignment.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Trade school diploma preferred
• 3-7 years of performing maintenance and repairs on hydraulic crane.
• Must have a current Texas Department of Public Safety class C Driver’s License.
Skills Required
• Ability to interpret, read, and write reports in English.
• Mechanical and analytical skills required.
• Ability to interpret, read, and troubleshoot using schematic.
• Ability to prioritize, organizes work, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to operate crane by viewing hand signals.
