We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrical Lineman to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will need knowledge primarily in underground cable and electricity. Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain overhead and underground power lines using bucket trucks, cranes, and rigging equipment.
- Climb poles and structures safely using appropriate climbing gear to access high voltage lines for inspection or repair.
- Operate bucket trucks and other specialized equipment for elevated work tasks while adhering to safety protocols.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and utility maps to accurately locate underground cables and plan installation or repair procedures.
- Perform cabling, splicing, grounding, and wiring of electrical systems in compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Conduct utility locating to identify existing underground infrastructure before excavation or construction activities.
- Use testing tools such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues and verify system integrity in both low voltage and high voltage environments.
- Assist with industrial electrician tasks like wiring machinery or IT infrastructure setups on construction sites or facilities.
- Engage in field service operations including troubleshooting electrical problems at customer sites or utility locations.
- Support tree trimming efforts around power lines to prevent outages and maintain system reliability.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician with a focus on utility or industrial electrical systems.
- Demonstrated ability in rigging, welding, climbing poles, and bucket operation with valid certification where applicable.
- Strong knowledge of high voltage (HV) systems as well as low voltage (LV) wiring standards.
- Experience working on construction sites with familiarity in blueprint reading, cabling, trenching, and utility locating techniques.
- Skilled in operating bucket trucks, bucket lifts, crane rigs, and other heavy-duty equipment safely.
- Ability to perform field service tasks efficiently while maintaining safety standards at all times.
- Familiarity with NEC regulations, Ohmmeters for testing electrical circuits, and IT infrastructure setups is highly desirable.
- Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions; comfortable climbing poles or structures regularly.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with clear communication abilities for team collaboration and safety reporting.
