Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary

I am a board certified physician with specialties in Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine.

I am seeking a nurse practitioner, to see patients in person at the Holiday Island location of True Self Recovery one day a week. Any day of the week is workable.

True Self Recovery is a substance abuse treatment facility, in operation since 2020.

The Holiday Island location treats patients in need of detoxification from alcohol, opioids, sedative and methamphetamine.

This is a 1099 position.

Malpractice insurance can be covered if needed.

5-12 patients would be the approximate volume range.

All patients are >/= 18 y.o.

No night call.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed patient assessments to determine health status and identify medical issues.
• Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements.
• Manage acute and chronic conditions related to general internal medicine and psychiatry.
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems, specifically KIPU
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, specialists in telehealth settings, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Treat patients in need of medical detoxification from alcohol, sedatives, opioids and methamphetamine
• Document a history and do an evaluation for new patients, admitted to the facility the prior 24 hours.
• Document and evaluation of patients who may have follow up needs or are due for their q 7 day follow up.

Qualifications

• Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification to prescribe medications under state law.
• Experience working with patients struggling with substance abuse is preferable but not mandatory.
• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients on health coaching strategies and treatment options.

Pay: $600.00 per day
