Internship Description
JML Collective is seeking a Development and Communications Intern for Summer 2026. This exciting opportunity is ideal for undergraduate students eager to sharpen their skills and gain hands-on experience working with national nonprofits, mission-driven businesses, and creatives in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
The intern will report directly to JML Collective’s Founder & Principal, Jared Michael Lowe, and will contribute up to 20 hours per week. This role offers meaningful, real-world exposure to a range of projects, along with regular mentorship, guidance, and opportunities to engage with the agency’s broader work.
Major Responsibilities:
- Support grant-writing efforts by drafting grant applications and reports for JML Collective’s clients
- Help craft social media content, digital toolkits, blog entries, press releases, and other content verticals
- Develop graphics via Canva
- Cull outreach lists and provide database management for email and mail correspondence; direct and respond to inquiries to info@jmlcollective.com email address
- Assist with the planning of various programs, events, and other activities.
- Attend meetings and take notes when necessary and provide other administrative support as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Interest in working in a start-up, agency environment
- Current undergraduate college student
- Proficiency in Google Suite (specifically Google Docs and Sheets), Canva, and other technical tools.
- Proficiency in social media platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Tik-Tok and BlueSky
- Familiarity with customer relationship management systems like NEON, Salesforce, Nation Builder preferred, but not necessary
- Strong writing and communications skills, especially with social media and other digital channels
- Entrepreneurial and self starter
- The position will entail 20 hours a week and is mostly remote with the chance to attend and support in-person events. Individuals will receive college credit, in addition to monthly travel stipend
