Duties
- Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to interpret project scope and material requirements
- Analyze material costs, labor rates, subcontractor quotes, and equipment needs to develop comprehensive project budgets
- Manage the estimation process from initial bid through final proposal submission, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness
- Conduct site visits when necessary to assess existing conditions and gather additional information for accurate estimation
- Monitor project costs during execution to ensure adherence to budgets and implement cost control measures as needed
Skills
- Experience in the rough carpentry field preferably
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical documents with precision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) for spreadsheets, cost analysis, and report generation
- Deep understanding of construction industry practices related to commercial projects, including cost management and material estimating
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Knowledge of contracts, project management principles, and construction site experience enhances estimation accuracy
