Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Loan Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mortgage lending, having closed at least 2 loans per month for the past year as a loan officer. This role requires excellent negotiation skills and a comprehensive understanding of mortgage servicing, underwriting, and relevant regulations such as TILA and Fair Housing. As a Loan Officer, you will play a crucial role in guiding clients through the loan application process while ensuring compliance with all necessary guidelines.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities - Mortgage Loan Officer
- Originate mortgage loans by prospecting new clients and maintaining relationships with referral partners such as realtors, builders, and financial advisors.
- Interview applicants to determine their financial eligibility and borrowing objectives.
- Collect and analyze financial and credit information to pre-qualify and recommend appropriate loan programs.
- Educate clients on available mortgage products, terms, and rates, providing guidance throughout the loan process.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company lending regulations.
- Work closely with underwriters, processors, and closing agents to move loans efficiently from application to closing.
- Maintain an active pipeline of prospective borrowers and meet individual and team sales goals.
- Stay informed on market trends, interest rates, and new loan products.
Experience - Mortgage Loan Officer
- Proven experience as a Loan Officer and ability to close at least 2 loans per month.
- Must have active NMLS for state of Florida.
- MUST reside in the state of Florida.
- Knowledge of mortgage servicing processes, underwriting standards, and relevant regulations (TILA, Fair Housing).
- Excellent negotiation skills combined with the ability to communicate effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- A solid understanding of contracts related to loans and banking operations is essential.
