A leading aerospace and defense manufacturer specializing in aircraft components, propulsion systems, advanced engineering, and maintenance solutions for military and commercial aviation customers is seeking a Stress Engineer in the Baltimore, Maryland area.
Responsibilities:
- Lead structural/stress analysis for nacelle and thrust reverser products using established engineering principles and program requirements
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to stress engineers supporting production, product improvement, and field issues
- Solve complex, less-defined engineering problems and develop practical solutions that support short- and long-term business objectives
- Collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical and product issues
- Develop and implement processes, metrics, and best practices to improve the quality and efficiency of stress analysis activities
- Support development and coordination of a global engineering resource network
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations to customers, internal stakeholders, and engineering leadership
Candidates Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- 5 years of aerospace stress engineering experience
- Experience analyzing metallic and composite structures using hand calculations and Finite Element Methods (FEM/FEA)
- Experience with structural analysis, stress calculations, and aerospace component evaluation
- Must have experience with Patran and Nastran software
Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
