POSITION SUMMARY and RESPONSIBILITIES
JMC Investment is seeking an Analyst for its private equity investment group. This individual will be an integral member of the investment team and will support JMC’s efforts primarily in investment deal flow marketing, reviewing investment opportunities and managing portfolio companies.
Key priorities and responsibilities of the Analyst will include:
- Perform industry, sector and company specific research related to new investment targets and existing portfolio holdings
- Play an integral role in new deal marketing efforts, supporting the deal team by updating and maintaining deal tracking and contact databases, processing NDAs, and preparing question lists for diligence calls
- Evaluate and recommend new direct investment opportunities
- Update and maintain monthly portfolio performance reporting
- Participate in writing and preparing presentation materials for internal investment committee and portfolio update meetings
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
- 2 years of relevant work experience in private equity, accounting, transaction services advisory, consulting, corporate finance, or relevant field
- Previous experience with financial analysis and modeling in Excel (LBO/DCF)
- Strong quantitative and data analysis skillset with an advanced proficiency in Excel
- Great interpersonal skills, work well in a small team environment
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong Attention to detail
- Highly organized
