Role Description The Fire Technician role at JMC FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES, INC. is a full-time, on-site position based in Pompano Beach, FL. The Fire Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, maintaining, and repairing fire extinguishers, fire suppression systems, and related life safety equipment in accordance with codes, standards, and company procedures. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine service calls, troubleshooting system issues, documenting inspection results, and preparing service reports. The role also involves communicating with customers on-site, explaining findings and recommendations, and ensuring that all work areas are left clean and secure. Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems, with the ability to inspect, test, service, and perform basic repairs.
- Understanding of fire safety and life safety principles, including applicable codes, standards, and best practices.
- Troubleshooting skills to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues with fire protection and life safety systems in the field.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, work orders, manuals, and basic drawings or schematics.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with customers, teammates, and supervisors.
- Comfort working on-site in commercial and residential environments, including climbing ladders and lifting equipment as needed.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and willingness to travel locally to customer locations.
