Job Overview
We are seeking a Resident Services Coordinator to support vital programs in economic development, self-sufficiency, family services, and homeownership. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping individuals and families succeed through supportive services, case management, and resource coordination.
You’ll work directly with residents to assess needs, connect them with services, and monitor their progress, making a meaningful impact every day.
Responsibilities
- Interview, assess, and counsel participants; refer residents to services such as education, employment, health care, child care, job training, and credit counseling.
- Conduct follow-up to ensure residents complete referrals and receive needed support.
- Maintain accurate case files, progress notes, and required reports.
- Develop and carry out outreach activities to promote programs and meet department goals.
- Build effective relationships with community partners, agencies, and resident groups.
- Respond to public inquiries, prepare correspondence, and share program information.
- Track participant data to evaluate outcomes and program effectiveness.
- Support Resident Services programs, including FSS: monitor contracts, calculate escrow credits, and complete HUD-required documentation.
- Manage a Public Housing caseload: verify tenant information, calculate income and rent, explain program rules, and maintain compliance.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years in social services, housing services, community programs, or case management.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, or related field preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of social services, community resources, and case management practices.
- Strong interviewing, assessment, and data-evaluation skills.
- Ability to interpret program rules and communicate them clearly to residents.
- Highly organized, able to manage deadlines, shifting priorities, and a diverse caseload.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and under pressure.
- Proficiency with computers, Windows-based applications, and modern office equipment.
- Comfortable working with individuals from diverse social, economic, and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and accurate recordkeeping.
Additional Requirements
- Valid California Driver License with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking during site visits, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs, and extended periods of computer work.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical examination.
Pay: $21.36 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
