This role focuses on applying MBSE best practices to design, integrate, and sustain complex mission systems.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help transition enterprise architecture and engineering practices into model-based frameworks that streamline system lifecycle development, reduce risk, and enhance mission readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain system models using MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo, MagicDraw, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect) to support system design, analysis, verification, and validation.
- Translate stakeholder needs and requirements into SysML/UML models to inform architecture, interfaces, and system behaviors.
- Support integration of digital engineering artifacts into the acquisition and sustainment process for NOVASTAR-related mission systems.
- Provide technical leadership on MBSE methods, standards, and toolchain integration.
- Collaborate with systems, software, and hardware engineers to ensure models accurately reflect system performance and mission requirements.
- Conduct trade studies, risk assessments, and impact analyses leveraging model-based data.
- Deliver technical documentation, model artifacts, and engineering reports in compliance with DoD standards and customer requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of systems engineering experience, with at least 3 years applying MBSE methodologies.
- Proficiency with SysML and MBSE tools (Cameo, MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or similar).
- Knowledge of DoD acquisition lifecycle and digital engineering standards (e.g., DoD Digital Engineering Strategy, MIL-STD-881, DoDAF).
- Experience developing models to support requirements traceability, verification/validation, and architecture decisions.
- Active Secret clearance required; TS/SCI strongly preferred.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or related discipline.
- INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP/ESEP) certification.
- Experience supporting ISR, GEOINT, C4ISR, or similar mission system programs.
- Familiarity with Agile development and DevSecOps environments.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers on MBSE methods and tool usage.
- Contribute to mission-critical national security programs under the NOVASTAR acquisition framework.
