JMA’s staff of experienced professionals internally handles all facets of its prospect development, from identifying the prospect, acquiring the interest, drilling the wells and marketing the production.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Land Technician. The position provides technical support to the Land department in the preparation of documentation for the maintenance of leases, prospects, and drilling of wells.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Assist in monitoring election deadlines and ensure responses are made in a timely manner.
· Understand and interpret a variety of conveyancing documents including, but not limited to, oil and gas leases, deeds, affidavits, and assignments.
· Understand and interpret letter agreements.
· Calculate working and net revenue interest.
· Maintain oil and gas lease database.
· Monitor and report oil and gas lease expirations.
· Prepare assignments and exhibits.
· Notify operator of changes in ownership.
· Basic knowledge of ownership reports and title opinions.
· Evaluate interest discrepancies and aid in due diligence.
· Assist with follow-up necessary on title requirements and prepare required curative materials and any related correspondence.
· Track, monitor, and report OCC activity for non-producing acreage.
· Help create, coordinate, and organize the maintenance of prospect/well files.
Job Specifications and Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Oil and Gas industry is required. Proficient Microsoft 365 experience required. An applicant must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and the knowledge of necessary software and computer applications.
