Registered Dental Assistants needed in Rancho Cucamonga

Pay: $25.00-$30.00/hourly

Duration: Temporary (4-4 1/2 months/720 hours) possible extension

Locations: Rancho Cucamonga/San Bernardino
Facility Type: Public Health Clinic

Benefits: 5 accrued sick days per year, after 90 days of employment, weekly direct deposit, Benefits package offered after 30 days

Examples of Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Provides patient education on the principles of dental health and disease prevention.

2. Takes and processes patient X-rays.

3. Assists the dentist at chairside with the delivery of instruments and preparation of dental materials.

4. Participates in the promotion and integration of dental health services within the primary care setting Shares dental health education materials with patients, such as flyers, brochures, handouts, and dental supplies.

5. Answers dental program related questions regarding service eligibility and community resources available through dental health services.

6. Collects various data on patients that access the health center program services; monitors patients' dental care/services under the direction of the dentist and hygienist. Contacts patients regarding dental health needs and may assist patients in locating additional free or low cost dental care services.

7. Provides patient counseling about preventive dental care and nutrition related to dental health.

8. Engages in operatory and instrument infection control activities to include instrument cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing in a designated central processing area to control quality and ensure safety.

9. Assists in the development culturally competent dental health program materials, including the format of educational and promotional materials.

10. Schedules patients for new and return appointments.

11. Assists with initial oral health screenings, interventions, and summary documentation of screenings; supports clinical staff with sealant program and application procedures as regulated by the State.

12. Provides vacation and temporary relief as required.

Minimum Requirements

License*: Possession of a current license as a Registered Dental Assistant by the State of California Board of Dental Examiners.

-AND-

Certification*: Possession of a Coronal Polishing certification AND current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
-AND-

Experience: One (1) year of experience (full-time equivalent) performing clinical dental assistant duties which include oral health education, charting of decayed, missing and/or filled teeth, and instructing patients on proper oral hygiene and proper nutritional habits.

• Must be able to pass a background check going back to age 18 -
