Certified Medical Coder II$27.50-$33.00/hourlyOnsite onlyKnowledgeable in: Epic, 3M, Meditech and 3M 360 EncoderDuties include reviewing charts and identifying procedures; abstracting and coding patient charts utilizing ICD-10 and CPT coding classifications; evaluating charts for completeness and accuracy in conformance with current standards and regulations; and contacting hospital staff to complete charts and/or clarify information for coding purposes.Minimum RequirementsApplicants must meet both of the following credentials and experience requirements:CREDENTIALS:Must possess and maintain one (1) of the following:• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) issued by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) issued by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) issued by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) issued by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).-AND-EXPERIENCE:OPTION 1:Two (2) years of experience (within the past five (5) years) coding inpatient stays in a Level I or II Trauma Center utilizing ICD-10 (International Coding of Diseases) and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) coding classifications.-OR-OPTION 2:Three (3) years of experience (within the past five (5) years) coding inpatient stays in an acute care hospital utilizing ICD-10 (International Coding of Diseases) and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) coding classifications.Note: Medical billing is not considered qualifying experience (i.e., experience billing for supplies and services related to routine patient visits such as charge codes or coding from encounter forms).Desired QualificationsExperience utilizing an automated encoder or abstracting system is highly desired.Send resumes to: dehrnman@jmstaffing.comApply on line: jmstaffing.comJM Temporary Services & Affiliates, Inc., dba JM Staffing, JM Medi-Stat is proud to be an equal-opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
