JM Steel is currently hiring an Industrial Maintenance Supervisor for our facility in Leetsdale, PA. JM Steel manufactures mechanical systems for the American solar power industry. Our capabilities include mechanical pipe, general roll-forming, stamping, and mechanical assemblies.
Position Description of Industrial Maintenance Supervisor:
The Industrial Maintenance Supervisor provides front-line leadership and hands-on guidance to our team of maintenance mechanics and millwrights. This role bridges upper management and floor operations, ensuring that daily maintenance tasks, equipment troubleshooting, and facility upkeep are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities of Industrial Maintenance Supervisor:
- Coordinate and assign daily work orders to maintenance mechanics across designated shifts.
- Provide hands-on assistance and technical guidance to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex plant equipment.
- Monitor compliance with safety evaluations and protocols prior to any maintenance actions.
- Supervise the preventative maintenance program, including the tracking of auger repairs, pneumatic system calibrations, and routine inspections (belts, fluids, filters, bearings, seals).
- Report equipment status, downtime metrics, and team performance to the Maintenance Manager.
- Assist in inventory management for spare parts and critical maintenance supplies.
Requirements and Qualifications of Industrial Maintenance Supervisor:
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory, team lead, or senior millwright role.
- Technical Skills: Strong diagnostic, fabricating, and mechanical abilities spanning roll-forming, stamping, and automated machinery.
- Leadership: Excellent communication skills with a proven track record of motivating teams and enforcing safety standards.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or degrees are highly preferred.
Schedule of Industrial Maintenance Supervisor:
- Shift flexibility required to support facility operations (Must be able to oversee 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift crews as assigned).
