Position Description
This position is an excellent opportunity to earn experience in agricultural technical consulting. Duties include data collection under field conditions, data management and analysis, agronomic and engineering calculations, preparation of reports and recommendations. Fundamental to the job is effective communication with growers, regulatory personnel, and fellow JMLord personnel. Essential job functions include evaluating irrigation and drainage system performance, monitoring field moisture levels in relation to plant growth and crop evapotranspiration. Provide growers with weekly irrigation recommendations.
Read and understand maps, drawings, regulatory documents, reports, schematics, and other written or verbal directions to complete project tasks successfully.
Qualifications
Ideal candidate will have agricultural and irrigation experience. Candidate must be highly motivated and be able to work independently. A Bachelor degree in agricultural engineering, soil science, plant or crop science or related field. Certified Agricultural Irrigation Specialist (CAIS) license is not required but preferred and if accepted would be required to obtain said license. Good computer, writing, and communication skills a must. Clean DMV record and current California Driver's License required.
Experience with Microsoft Office Google earth, Google maps, Access and ability to learn new software quickly.
