Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team and ensure the optimal operation of our facilities and manufacturing equipment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise across electrical, mechanical, and facilities maintenance disciplines. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be instrumental in maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-functioning environment by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting complex systems, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Your proactive approach and technical proficiency will help keep our operations running smoothly and reliably. This position is currently seasonal, but subject to change to permanent. Hours are currently 3rd shift but must be flexible to work 1st and 2nd shifts if needed on weekdays, weekends and holidays.

Pay: Hourly $33.00

II. POSITION OBJECTIVE: Brief statement why position exists.

To install, repair, and maintain production equipment, buildings, and facilities.

III. QUALIFICATIONS: Describe education and experience needed to perform the above.

Personnel will confirm.

Minimum High School or equivalent experience. Some electrical and mechanical experience, shop math, read mechanical and some elementary electrical drawings. 2 years experience in maintenance repairs.

IV. TRAINING: Briefly state degree and depth of job training required for this position.

The first 90 days on the job training to demonstrate the ability to learn and perform the requirements of the position.

V. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Descriptions of duties, physical, and visual requirements.

A. Tasks and Duties:

1. Maintain work area to THM standards.

2. Installs, sets up, and maintains most mechanical equipment as directed

3. Installs, operates, maintains, tests, and locates trouble on most types of AC equipment.

Knows how and does perform lubrication and periodic servicing of all types of equipment.

4. Reads mechanical and some electrical drawings.

5. Works on equipment with some help as the situation arises.

6. Determines when parts need replacement and repairs are necessary.

8. Works with personnel of higher classification to obtain additional knowledge of plants

electrical distribution system and power requirements on occasion. Knows company

rules and complies with them.

9. Starts, stops, maintains, and helps install plant utilities and production equipment.

10. Dismantles and assembles and helps on most electrical motors and allied equipment.

Repairs, replaces, and cleans parts.

11. Uses (and is moderately skilled in) the use of electrical testing equipment commonly

used in an industrial plant, such as ammeters and voltmeter.

12. Possesses a working knowledge of the following equipment:

a. Arc and gas welding equipment.

b. Power tools such as the drill press, cut-off saw, and portable power tools.

c. Hand tools and testing equipment of both electrical and mechanical trades.

d. Hoisting equipment.

13. Possesses the necessary tools of the trade.

14. Assists the Maintenance Leader and/or Electro-Mech Tech, Electro-Mech A or B when

necessary.

15. Operates mobile and hoisting equipment as necessary.

16. Works in any phase of the plastic operation as directed.

17. Fills out records when required.

18. Performs miscellaneous jobs as directed.

19. Operates forklifts as necessary.

20. Maintains forklift certification.

B. Physical/Visual Activities Required:

1. Have adequate sight, hearing, and use of limbs to safely operate all powered vehicles. I.E. forklifts and sweepers.

2. Sight capabilities to distinguish proper products identification as well as

warning and operational indicators.

3. Hearing capabilities to distinguish differences in warning alarm indicators and standard operation indicators.

4. Sight capabilities to identify accuracy and neatness of required job assignments.

5. Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling capabilities to handle job requirements such as operating, cleaning, or packaging equipment and products.

6. Balancing to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching in all areas dues to possible limited direct supervision and/or observation.

7. Ability to verbally communicate either face to face or via telephone with

other fellow employees to accomplish all assigned job requirements.

8. Hear and understand verbal communication whether it be face to face or via telephone.

9. See and understand written communication.

10. Lift up to 70 pounds and carry up to 30 feet.

11. Walking through, under, and around equipment with clearance of 30”.

12. Push and/or pull up to 2500 pounds up to 30 feet with the aid of material handling

equipment.

13. Ability to feel objects, textures, size, and shape and to determine temperatures by

touching of skin, primarily by that of fingertips.

14. Ability to grasp tools (manual as well and powered) and use them in accordance with a

safe working manner so as not to injure oneself or fellow employees. I.E. power saws,

drills, hammers, presses, latches, etc.

15. Sight capability to safely operate at arm's length machinery power and/or hand tools

needed to accomplish the requirements of the job assignments for this position.

C. Work Environment Conditions:

1. Inside and outside environments apply.

2. Subject to extreme cold, temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour.

3. Subject to extreme heat, temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour.

4. Subject to noise, causing reason to shout in order to be heard above the noise level.

5. Subject to vibration, exposure fluctuating movements of the body.

6. Subjects to hazards such as moving machinery, electrical currents, falling debris, exposure to chemicals, gasses, high heat, or explosives.

7. Subject to unregulated atmospheric conditions caused by odors, fumes, gases, poor ventilation, and dusts. Subject to oils and other cutting fluids.

VI. AUTHORITY/DECISION MAKING: State closeness of supervision, control by policy or

procedure, direction of others.

Works under J-M policy and procedures on day-to-day basis. Works under the supervision of the Maintenance supervisor.
