Job Summary: The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Technician will perform all Food Safety and Quality tasks such as performing and recording results from all production and packing lines for regulatory compliance, HACCP, GMP’s, weights and defects, and aiding in the education of plant employees in the practices of producing safe edible food. They also inform the FSQA Supervisor or Manager of all out of compliance materials and conditions in the facility, contain all non-conforming products and materials, and isolate and hold all substandard ingredients and finished goods.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
· Conducts and documents finished product inspections for each item
· Responsible for upholding food safety standards
· Continuously checking product specifications as items are running.
· Getting final counts for finished product and signing off on pallet sheets.
· Metal detector verifications
· Printing finished product labels for packing
· Checking in bulk ingredients for specified information
· Monitor all aspects of the Allergen Program
· Monitor and document changeover cleaning and sanitation procedures
· Ensuring GMP guidelines with production associates, completing daily GMP reports
· Verify chemical concentrations
· Changing printer labels and ribbon as needed.
· Complete end of shift clean-up tasks
· Other duties as assigned
Working Environment
Between 30°-70° degrees.
Required Knowledge And Skills
Education: Associates degree or higher in a science related field or having one-year minimum experience in manufacturing or holding a Food Safety position for one year required.
Technical Skills: MS Excel and Word
Knowledge: SSOPs, SOPs, familiarization with FDA or MDARD a plus
Other:
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

· Possess skills to complete paperwork legibly
· Good math and organizational skills
· Good problem identification and problem-solving skills
· Ability to read and interpret product specifications
