Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and monitoring patient vital signs.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document patient information, including medical history, symptoms, and treatment plans.
- Educate patients and their families on healthcare procedures, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Assist in the coordination of patient care activities and ensure the smooth flow of operations in the healthcare facility.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures.
Experience:
- Must be a licensed vocational nurse with a valid state license.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9 coding, and electronic medical record systems.
- Proficiency in medication administration, including IV therapy and tube feeding.
- Familiarity with acute pain management techniques and protocols.
- Experience in specialized areas such as ophthalmology or medical imaging is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, including emergency room settings.
