What this job involves: The HSSE Director serves as the primary point of contact for all EHS requirements and activities, managing a team of HSSE professionals and champions while communicating EHS needs and results to the Account Central Leadership Team. This role provides technical expertise and strategic leadership across all JLL facilities, ensuring regulatory compliance and driving the continued development of the organization's EHS culture and training programs.
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Lead the development and refinement of JLL's EHS culture and training programs on the account
- Provide technical expertise and strategic leadership on regulatory compliance issues across all JLL facilities
- Manage and provide EHS oversight, trending factors and indicators to account and Client leadership on a monthly basis
- Support the HSSE Vertical and EHS Americas leaders in rolling out new compliance and best management practices programs
- Manage OSHA 301/300 recordkeeping requirements and serve as Account Administrator for the JLL AIMS system
- Lead or support investigations of serious safety events, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with other JLL EHS managers to share and learn best practices across client accounts
- Travel to multiple facility locations as needed for site visits and inspections
- Ability to conduct facility walk-throughs and safety inspections
- May require lifting and carrying of safety equipment and materials
- Occasional exposure to various industrial environments and conditions
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of EHS experience and education
- Minimum 8 years of experience managing an EHS program
- Supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and train staff
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of relevant current EHS legislation and regulations
- Practical working knowledge of Health and Safety tools and techniques, ideally within a Facilities Management environment
- Strong presentation skills to deliver specialist advice at all levels
- Master's degree in relevant field
- General Industry OSHA 10/30 Hour Instructor certification
- OSHA certification or applicable certifications (CHM, CSHM, CIH, CSP, CEP)
- Experience in Facilities Management environment
- Strong organizational skills and collaborative management style
- Ability to conduct audits and gather objective evidence through observation and interviews
- Evidence of strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish credibility with senior management
