What your day-to-day will look like:
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, motors, and control systems across assigned facilities
- Diagnose electrical problems using testing equipment and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance inspections on electrical equipment and systems to identify potential issues before they become critical
- Respond promptly to service requests and emergency calls, troubleshooting issues efficiently to restore normal operations
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan and execute electrical work accurately
- Ensure all work complies with National Electrical Code (NEC), local building codes, and JLL safety standards and protocols
- Document completed work orders, maintenance activities, and equipment repairs using computerized maintenance management systems
- Collaborate with other trades and building engineers to coordinate projects and ensure seamless facility operations
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving electrical technologies and industry best practices
- High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by completion of an approved electrician apprenticeship program or vocational training
- Valid state or local electrician's license or certification as required by jurisdiction
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience working as an electrician in commercial or industrial environments
- Thorough knowledge of electrical systems, NEC requirements, and local electrical codes and regulations
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment including multimeters, megohmmeters, and thermal imaging cameras
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and safety
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights on ladders and lifts, and perform tasks in confined spaces
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS), HVAC controls, and energy management systems
- Knowledge of emergency power systems including generators and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience working in occupied commercial office buildings, retail centers, or healthcare facilities
- Familiarity with LED lighting systems and lighting control technologies
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills
