This role is critical to maintaining 24/7 availability and reliability of network services.

The Control Room Technician will monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain the health of data center networks and systems. The Control Room Technician will serve as the first line of defense, responding to alerts, resolving issues, escalating problems as needed, and ensuring uptime and performance metrics are met. This role is critical to maintaining 24/7 availability and reliability of network services.
What is your day to day:
- Monitor network systems, servers, and data center infrastructure for alerts and performance issues using Network Operations Center tools and dashboards.
- Respond to system and network alerts, assess severity, and take appropriate action.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnostics on network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.)
- Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate Tier 2/3 teams or vendors with detailed documentation.
- Maintain accurate logs of incidents, events, and problems using ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
- Perform routine system checks, maintenance tasks, and patch management under supervision.
- Support disaster recovery and incident response processes.
- Collaborate with network engineers and data center teams to improve system performance and reliability
- Maintain documentation of procedures, network diagrams, and support materials.
- Follow strict control and security protocols.
- Associate’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Networking, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-3 years of experience in a Network Operations Center, data center, or IT support environment.
- Familiarity with networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs.
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g. SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Zabbix).
- Basic knowledge of Linux/Windows server environments.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Willingness to work in a 24/7 shift rotation including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- CompTIA Network , CCNA, or similar certification.
- Experience in a high-availability data center environment.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) are a plus.
