Building Maintenance Assistant – JLL
What this job involves:
As a Building Maintenance Assistant at JLL, you'll be an essential member of our facilities team, ensuring the smooth daily operation of a large office complex. In this hands-on role, you'll maintain building systems, coordinate logistics operations, and create a safe, functional environment for building occupants. Your diverse skill set and attention to detail will directly contribute to JLL's reputation for operational excellence and exceptional client service delivery. This position offers the opportunity to develop technical expertise while working across multiple facility functions in a dynamic corporate environment.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks including lock repairs, light bulb replacement, drywall patching, painting, and drain clearing to keep facilities operating smoothly.
Execute preventative maintenance schedules by conducting building system inspections, changing filters, and performing routine equipment checks to prevent downtime.
Manage mailroom operations by sorting and distributing incoming mail, processing outbound correspondence, calculating postage, operating postage meters, and tracking accountable deliveries through FedEx, UPS, and similar carriers.
Oversee loading dock activities including receiving shipments, inspecting deliveries, logging items for tracking compliance, and operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and carts to transport goods.
Coordinate with third-party contractors and vendors while monitoring supply inventory levels and reporting replenishment needs to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Maintain safety compliance by adhering to established procedures, keeping work areas hazard-free, and ensuring all spaces meet health and safety standards.
Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete repairs and maintenance tasks throughout the facility.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED certificate
Valid driver's license in good standing
Previous Experience In Building Maintenance Is Preferred
Physical capability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform strenuous activities including prolonged periods of bending, standing, and walking
