Role Description The Construction Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Auburn, AL. This position is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including reviewing plans and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, and analyzing labor, material, and equipment requirements. The estimator will develop and update project budgets, track cost changes, and coordinate with project managers and field teams to ensure accurate and timely information. Daily tasks include communicating with vendors and subcontractors for pricing, preparing bid proposals, reviewing job cost reports, and supporting management in decision-making. The role also involves maintaining organized documentation, ensuring adherence to company standards, and contributing to continuous improvement of estimating processes.
Qualifications
- Strong Construction Estimating skills, including reading blueprints and interpreting project specifications.
- Proficiency in Quantity Take-offs and the use of relevant estimating software or tools.
- Demonstrated experience in Cost Management and Budgeting for construction projects.
- Effective Communication skills for collaborating with project teams, vendors, and clients.
- Attention to detail, strong analytical and math skills, and ability to work with deadlines.
- Familiarity with local building codes, construction methods, and industry best practices.
- Ability to work on-site in Auburn, AL and collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
- Preferred: Prior experience as a construction estimator or in a related construction management role.
- Preferred: Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
