Responsibilities
- Install HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems according to schematics and design specifications
- Perform routine maintenance, system repairs, and troubleshooting on HVAC/R equipment using hand tools, ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools
- Diagnose electrical issues through electrical diagnostics and resolve system faults efficiently
- Read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC design plans to ensure precise installation and repairs
- Conduct plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems such as refrigerant piping and drainage connections
- Maintain detailed service records, reports, and logs of all work performed for accountability and future reference
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining system functions and maintenance procedures clearly to clients
Qualifications
- Proven construction experience with a strong mechanical aptitude in HVAC system installation and repair
- Service technician experience with refrigeration, boiler systems, or property maintenance is highly desirable
- Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical systems, and building automation systems
- Skilled in using hand tools, welding equipment, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools for equipment troubleshooting and repair
- Mechanical knowledge including plumbing, electrical diagnostics, ammonia refrigeration (nice-to-have), and appliance repair skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) or
driver certification preferred - EPA certification for refrigerant handling required or obtainable upon hire
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; experience with HVAC/R field service preferred
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills
- Willingness to work in various environments requiring physical activity such as lifting heavy equipment or working at heights
