Job Title: Accounting Manager

Reports To: Director of Hotel Accounting & Vice President of Accounting
Job Summary: The Accounting Manager will oversee the financial operations for a portfolio of hotels, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, payroll processing, and compliance with company accounting policies. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Accounting Manager will work closely with hotel general managers, above-property finance leaders, ownership and HR to ensure financial integrity and support the company’s growth objectives.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple hotel properties.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with company standards.
- Monitor and reconcile accounts, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and banking statements.
- Collaborate with properties to standardize and streamline accounting processes.
- Payroll Processing:
- Oversee and manage the payroll process for hotel associates, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely distribution.
- Maintain payroll systems and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Work with hotel management teams to monitor budget adherence and identify areas for cost control.
- Internal Controls and Compliance/Month End Processing:
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of financial processes to identify and mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial and regulatory requirements.
- Receive and reconcile all month end items from the assigned properties.
- Reconcile and process/pay monthly taxes.
- Complete month end reconciliations for the food & beverage operations.
- Accounts Payables and Receivables:
- Ensure payables are accurately recorded and accounted for in the appropriate accounting period.
- Manage the purchase order process from site level to payment level.
- Oversee the properties accounting receivable process to ensure timely invoicing and payment processing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting, with at least 1 year in a managerial role, preferably within the hospitality industry
- Experience managing accounting functions for multiple entities or locations is highly desirable
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., M3, Profitsword) and payroll systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; ability to work with complex data sets
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities
- Occasional travel to hotel locations as required
