Role: Tradeshow Installation & Dismantle (I&D) City Manager
Purpose:
Oversee all company tradeshow installation and dismantle operations within a specific city or region. Serve as the primary point of contact for labor crews, venue management, union representatives, and show services. Ensure all projects are executed on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with company standards for quality and safety.
- Project Oversight & Scheduling
- Manage and coordinate all I&D projects in assigned city.
- Schedule lead technicians, crew members, and equipment based on project needs.
- Monitor timelines to ensure on-time installation and dismantle.
- Confirm service orders (electrical, flooring, rigging, freight, etc.) are placed and verified.
- Labor & Crew Management
- Serve as the on-site or remote supervisor for all labor crews.
- Assign lead technicians to each project and provide necessary briefing.
- Ensure crew members meet skill, safety, and certification requirements.
- Maintain good working relationships with local union and freelance labor pools.
- Client & Venue Coordination
- Act as the primary local contact for clients during show move-in and move-out.
- Interface with venue operations teams, show service providers, and freight companies.
- Handle any on-site escalations or client concerns.
- Quality Control
- Ensure all booth installations meet company and client specifications.
- Conduct spot checks during build and dismantle.
- Document and report any damage, missing parts, or service delays.
- Safety & Compliance
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Verify that all required PPE, certifications, and safe work practices are in use.
- Maintain compliance with union and venue rules.
- Budget & Reporting
- Track and approve labor hours for payroll.
- Manage local project budgets and control overtime.
- Submit post-show reports detailing project performance, challenges, and improvements.
● Leadership: Ability to coordinate multiple projects and lead crews in high-pressure environments.
● Tradeshow Expertise: In-depth knowledge of I&D processes, venue operations, and show service coordination.
● Organization: Strong scheduling, resource management, and problem-solving skills.
● Communication: Professional, clear, and timely communication with clients, crews, and internal teams.
● Physical Requirements: Ability to work extended hours and travel between venues as needed.
Reports to: Regional Manager / Director of Operations
Supervises: Lead Technicians, I&D Crew Members (union or non-union)
