Installation Manager – JL Closets Austin
JL Closets, a leading provider of custom closet and storage solutions since 1991, is growing and seeking a hands-on, experienced Installation Manager to lead our Austin installation team. This position will lead our launch into Austin and will start by being hands on installing and as we grow in Austin the role will turn into a supervisory role.
Key Responsibilities:
- At the onset, perform installations until the volume of installs supports hiring enough installers to make the position a primarily supervisory role.
- Lead and coordinate a team of 10 installers, ensuring each day starts smoothly by reviewing scheduled projects and proactively addressing potential challenges.
- Collaborate with the scheduler to ensure the production calendar is accurate and achievable.
- Perform field inspections to ensure top-tier quality and adherence to company standards.
- Ensure all installers consistently follow company procedures and best practices.
- Provide remote troubleshooting and support for onsite installation challenges.
- Mentor and train junior installers, preparing them for senior roles.
- Manage customer service concerns related to installation, ensuring professional and timely resolutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a closet installer
- Proven experience managing installation teams in the construction, cabinetry, or contracting industry.
- Strong hands-on background in closet, cabinetry, or millwork installations.
- Highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to de-escalate issues on-site.
- Able to commit to a 5-6 day workweek (approximately 55–60 hours per week).
- Willing to temporarily store job accessories and van at home during the ramp up period.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Spanish fluency is a strong plus.
