Position Overview: As a Used Car Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our pre-owned vehicles meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing maintenance on used vehicles, preparing them for resale, and ensuring they meet Summit Subaru El Cajon's high-quality standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, inspect, and repair used vehicles to ensure they are in top working condition.
- Perform maintenance and repair work on vehicles, including oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, and engine diagnostics.
- Conduct thorough inspections and road tests to identify and resolve any mechanical issues.
- Collaborate with the Service Manager and other technicians to ensure timely and efficient vehicle preparation.
- Complete vehicle repairs and maintenance within specified timeframes while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Keep accurate and detailed records of work performed and parts used.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Stay up to date on the latest automotive technologies, trends, and repair techniques.
- Ensure all work meets safety standards and follows dealership protocols.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an automotive technician, with a focus on used vehicles or general service.
- ASE certification is preferred but not required.
- Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, engines, and electrical components.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to quality.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional automotive training or certifications a plus.
