SUMMARY

This role plays a critical role in managing J & K Distro’s inventory and packaging supplies. The Inventory Supervisor must be fluent with all products offered by our organization and manage inventory systems which will allow us to keep up with demand and track product lifecycles, supporting metric inflow. This role will be a key member of the Supply Chain team, responsible for managing finished good and component inventory levels. This position oversees a team of floor personnel, providing direction and leadership for site production activities to achieve safety, cost, quality and delivery goals with management. This person will also work cross-functionally with other departments as needed. This position may serve on the Safety Committee. This role has as significant impact on maintaining optimal inventory levels, reducing waste, and ensuring that production schedules are met.


This position is responsible for leading the inventory and receiving of products throughout the supply chain. The role focuses on improving, optimizing, and synchronizing material flows from receipt through to the shop floor, to ensure availability for shipment. This position is an enabler to operational performance improvements to achieve best-in-class operations performance targets with our inventory.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Inventory management, conduct & manage weekly spot inventory hand counts, audits, and adjustments; completes appropriate processes for accurate inventory counts pre and post receipt/shipment.

·   Creates shrink and loss prevention controls, to include keeping track of inventory.

·   Leverages lean materials practices to continuously improve standard work to optimize material flow performance.

·   Improves Cycle Count program to ensure 98% accuracy.

·   Ensures compliance with all SOP’s, safety and security policies and procedures.

·   Develops and maintains a robust materials planning process that ensures raw materials and packaging are available to meet production demands while optimizing inventory levels.

·   Forecasting, tracking and replenishment of production supplies and expendables and packaging

items. Monitors inventory levels of raw materials and packaging, ensuring the right balance between minimizing stockouts and reducing excess inventory. Develops and implements strategies to improve inventory turnover and reduce waste. Oversees and maintains inventory on packaging supplies.

·   Establishes and implements operational policies, standards, and procedures for inventory controls.

·   Communicates, works closely and successfully collaborates with supervisors in the bulk and e- commerce departments to achieve the organization’s goals.

·   Maintains expert-level knowledge on our full product catalog.

·   Weekly data reporting, month end inventory audits and reconciliation, quarterly and annual reconciliation with ad hoc reporting to Accounting.

·  Develops and maintains relevant and robust KPIs, and identifies trends and opportunities to define changes in processes and procedures that drive operations.

·   Ensures opening and closing, cleaning and organization of product is completed and product has been secured.

·   Ensures we are complying with all HEMP industry standards and laws.

·   Leads overall warehouse organization storage solutions, labeling, and shelving optimization.

·   Examines records and recommend actions for reported non-usable, slow moving, and excess/obsolete stock.

·   Manages coordination with finance to track all inventory movements.

·   Oversees inventory packaging components and communicates needs to marketing in a timely manner.

·   Meets or exceeds inventory turns targets monthly. Assists in establishing the annual budget and provides monthly inventory estimates.

·   Develops Purchasing Inventory and Sales (PSI) Excel spreadsheet to demonstrate plan, as needed.

·   Develops and maintains short- and long-term demand forecasts (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly) using historical data, market trends, and input from sales, marketing, and product teams.

·   Maintains product information database in ERP system, including but not limited to updating all

coding based on product information

·   Collaborates with the finished goods planning team to ensure accurate forecasts and production schedules are aligned with material requirements. Ensures materials availability meets production timelines while accounting for changes in demand.

·   Works closely with the production team to understand capacity, lead times, and constraints. Aligns material availability with production schedules to prevent delays and ensure efficient operations.

·   Continuously evaluates and improves the materials planning processes to drive greater efficiency and accuracy; provides recommendations for adjustments to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

·   Maintains accurate records of material usage, inventory levels, and supplier performance. Uses data analytics to track trends, predict future needs, and improve decision-making.

·  Oversees inventory levels and trends, ensuring that stock is maintained at optimal levels to meet demand without overstocking. Provides recommendations for adjustments to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

·   Monitors daily to ensure safety, security, sanitation, pest control, and other codes, regulations, laws, and policies are maintained.

·  Works with safety coordinator to determine and assure compliance with safety policies and procedures.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·   Assists with scheduling and training team members; oversees production workload and assigns work accordingly.

·  Ensures production lines are properly staffed, assisting with and maintaining a continuous cross-training program within the department to promote development, enhance flexibility, and ensure backup coverage of vital functions and processes.

·  Establishes SMART goals, monitors individual and team performance, holds team members accountable for performance deficiencies; aligns goals and activities with company vision, mission, values, and strategies. Provides ongoing verbal and written feedback.

·   Addresses employee relations concerns, and provides leadership through effective communication, coaching, training, and development; facilitates team cohesion and issue resolution and escalates matters to Human Resources as appropriate.

·   Address and resolve team member needs and questions related to inventory, assembly services, and shipping; guides team members in waste reduction.

·  Manages assigned team members including compliance with company policy and procedure, timecard and payroll approval, time off administration, operational process controls, training, and safety.

·   Consistently guides team to meet established performance standards including, but not limited to, shrink and safety initiatives.

REQUIRED:

Ÿ 5 years of experience in materials planning, inventory management, or supply chain management.

Ÿ 3 years working within inventory platforms with a full understanding of managing inventory within these systems.

Ÿ Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Supervisory role or as a Lead.

Ÿ Associate degree in Operations or Business, in related area, and/or equivalent experience and training.

Ÿ Proficiency in POS systems and inventory control systems.

Ÿ Minimum 1 year of metric reporting.

Ÿ Strong analytical, creative thinking, critical reasoning skills with a high degree of intellectual curiosity.

Ÿ Demonstrated reading, math and writing skills.

Ÿ Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MS365, One Drive, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Excel, etc.

Ÿ Ability to maintain positive work atmosphere by communicating effectively with employees, management, peers, and others.

Ÿ Strong organizational skills and demonstrated proactivity.

Ÿ Must be a person of high integrity, commitment and possess a strong work ethic.

Ÿ Ability to manage tasks and complete them in a timely manner.

Ÿ Must have reliable transportation.

Ÿ Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.


POSSIBLE REQUIREMENTS:

·   Clean driving record, DMV check if driving on behalf of the company.


DESIRED SKILLS:

·   Bachelors degree in Operations, Logistics, Business, or Engineering.

·   Experience in Vendor Management preferred.

·   Continuous improvement experience (i.e., Lean Six Sigma certification, TPM, lean manufacturing, etc.), as demonstrated by successful completion of a major improvement project.

·   Fluent in English and Spanish. 


SALARY RANGE: $60,000 - $80,000
