Position Summary:

The Fleet Driver is responsible for transporting goods between manufacturing plants (MFG), distribution facilities, regional distribution centers (RDCs), and customer locations. This position ensures all deliveries are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule. The Fleet Driver will verify order numbers, follow Bills of Lading, and maintain compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) safety regulations. Additionally, the driver will perform routine vehicle inspections and communicate any maintenance or delivery issues promptly.

Essential Functions:

• Transport and deliver materials between MFG and distribution sites in a safe, timely, and professional manner.  Transport and deliver goods to customer sites.
• Verify delivery information against Bills of Lading and report any discrepancies to the supervisor immediately.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; perform basic maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
• Adhere to all DOT and company safety procedures and regulations.
• Follow established delivery schedules and optimize routes to ensure on-time performance.
• Enter all required information in On Board Computers (OBCs).
• Safely operate company vehicles in all weather conditions.
• Drop & Hook and spot trailers throughout company sites when directed.
• Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by business needs.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Clean driving record with a strong safety history
• Ability to pass and maintain a valid DOT physical examination

Work Environment:

This position involves operating heavy vehicles and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Moderate physical activity, including lifting and loading materials with company supplied equipment, may be required.
