What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Level Mechanic / Rental Yard Technician position at JJET Rental, Service & Sales?
Job Description:
- Carefully inspect rental equipment, both prior to leaving the grounds and after it is returned.
- Identify equipment that needs to be marked out of service and notify the shop manager.
- Follow and maintain all safety procedures.
- Complete preventative maintenance on equipment and update records. Examples of types of rental equipment: lifts, excavators, skid steers, tractors and trailers.
- Perform basic repairs and service on small engine equipment
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be available to work 8:00am-5pm Monday through Friday and 7am to 11am every other Saturday.
- Must have clean MVR
- Must be able to pass pre-employment DOT drug test
- Good Communication Skills
- Able to deal with extreme cold and hot climates
- Comfortable with heights
- Must be able to perform all job functions that require lifting and/or carrying single items weighing at least 50lbs as well as functions/activities such as pulling, pushing, bending, climbing, standing, lifting, twisting, reaching, squatting and kneeling
