What are the responsibilities and job description for the Showroom Sales Associate position at JJ Haines?
The Showroom Salesperson will work with all customers including contractors, designers, architects and homeowners to assist them in selecting tile and related products for their various building and home improvement projects. He/she will develop relationships with the customers and provide valuable product knowledge, offer suggestions, and help cultivate their design project ideas.
The duties include, but not limited to:
Provide a positive customer experience for each person in the showroom.
Assist customers in their selections, write up selection sheets and sign out samples.
Maintain and grow relationships with contractors and designers.
Create customer quotes and process orders, confirm availability of the products, and answer all questions regarding the status of the order.
Maintain a neat and organized showroom ensuring all displays are up to date, ordering new products when necessary and updating discontinued items. Continuously create a new and fresh look to the showroom for that positive customer experience.
Organize and maintain product tile libraries.
Stay current on new products by attending seminars, reading product literature, and frequently viewing vendors’ websites.
Qualifications
Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service.
Strong background in interior design, merchandising and sales preferred.
Professional presentation skills and effective communications skills, both written and oral.
Experience using MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and ability to learn new programs.
Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
Bachelor’s degree in design or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Strong organizational skills.
