PM/Lube Technician

Position: Preventative Maintenance (PM) Mechanic – Entry Level

Location: Based in Buffalo, NY – Servicing Erie, Niagara, and Wyoming Counties

JIT Toyota-Lift, a family-owned and operated business with over 40 years of service, is seeking a hands-on, mechanically inclined individual to join our growing service team as an Entry-Level PM Mechanic. This is a road service position that offers independent work, a company-provided van, competitive benefits, and a clear path for technical advancement.

In this role, you’ll perform scheduled maintenance on forklifts, sweepers/scrubbers, aerial lifts, and other material handling equipment at customer locations. What You’ll Do:

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance using established procedures.
• Complete basic mechanical services such as oil/filter changes, lubrication, and minor adjustments.
• Identify and recommend additional necessary repairs; secure customer approval for work.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked service van.
• Document work performed accurately and submit required reports promptly.
• Attend company-provided technical training to grow your skills.
• Maintain a professional appearance and uphold company standards in customer interactions.
• Drive safely and responsibly while operating the company vehicle.
  
  
  

What We’re Looking For:

Education:

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: Technical school training or relevant coursework (e.g., BOCES, vocational programs, small engine repair) is a plus, but not required.
  
  
  

Skills & Experience:

• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools.
• Willingness to learn, follow procedures, and take initiative.
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• This is a hands-on role that involves frequent lifting, bending, and tool use.
• Must be able to safely operate service equipment and use proper PPE.
  
  
  

Mental Requirements:

• Ability to follow instructions, diagnose basic mechanical issues, and solve problems independently.
• Basic math and written/verbal communication skills.
  
  
  

Working Conditions:

• Work is primarily performed at customer sites, indoors and outdoors, in varying conditions.
• Travel is required within the assigned territory using a company-provided van.
