Job Summary
The Bus Monitor plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during their transportation to and from school. Duties
- Supervise students while they are on the bus, ensuring their safety and adherence to bus rules.
- Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus safely.
- Monitor student behavior and implement appropriate behavior management strategies.
- Communicate effectively with students to educate them on safety protocols and expectations.
- Provide first aid assistance when necessary and ensure that all health protocols are followed.
- Collaborate with bus drivers to ensure a smooth transportation process.
- Address any conflicts or issues among students in a calm and effective manner.
- Maintain a positive atmosphere on the bus, encouraging respectful interactions among students.
Qualifications
- Bilingual (english/spanish speaking) is a plus!
- Experience working with children, particularly in a classroom or childcare setting.
- Familiarity with special education practices is preferred.
- Strong skills in conflict management and behavior management techniques.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students of varying ages and backgrounds.
- First aid certification is a plus but not required; willingness to obtain certification is encouraged.
