Job Summary
At Jimmy's Glass Service, we are a trusted full-service glass provider specializing in auto, residential, and commercial glass solutions. We take pride in delivering exceptional craftsmanship and outstanding customer service. We are looking for a reliable, motivated, teachable, receptive/eager Glass Technician Apprentice to join our growing team. This is an entry-level role with extensive on-the-job training. You will work alongside our experienced lead glaziers and auto glass technicians.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead glass technicians with the removal, fitting, and installation of automotive and residential glass components
- Handle and transport glass materials safely using proper lifting techniques and tools
- Prepare job sites by removing broken glass, old adhesive, and caulking. Cutting glass accurately using manual or power tools
- Follow safety protocols related to power tool use, heavy lifting, and glass material handling to prevent accidents
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored after each job
- This role requires physical stamina, mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to workplace safety
Skills
- No prior glass experience required; background in construction, roofing, automotive repair or general labor is highly preferred.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and manual glass cutting techniques
- Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs, stand for long periods, and comfortably bend, kneel, or crouch
- Willingness to learn about ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibration procedures
- Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
- Must possess a valid driver's license
