What are the responsibilities and job description for the Underground Utility Foreman position at Jimmy Richards & Sons Excavating?
Jimmy Richards & Sons Excavating, Inc. is looking for a dedicated, self-motivated, and experienced Utility Foreman to join our team. Must have 5-10 years of experience with installation and repair of water, sewer, storm drain, conduit, and stormwater management systems. Projects are located within the Tri-County area (Calvert, Charles, & St. Mary's Counties) and parts of PG County and vary from Commercial Buildings to Residential Developments. Typical work weeks are Monday thru Friday from 6:30 A.M to 3:30 P.M, some extended hours and weekend work may be necessary depending on the workload and need of the project. Foremen are responsible for smoothly and efficiently running a crew of 5-10 employees. Other responsibilities include: completing daily work reports to include a description of the work performed on the project and the start & stop times of the crew, any equipment they utilized that day; keeping track of any work performed that is extra/in addition to the contract; weekly toolbox talks with crew; adhering to MOSHA and OSHA regulations.
Required skills:
- 5-10 Years utility experience
- Valid Driver’s License & Clean Driving Record
- Strong written & oral communication skills
- Knowledge of Safety Regulations and the ability to adhere to them, as well as company policies & procedures
- Heavy equipment experience preferred; excavators, dozers, loaders, etc.
- Pass drug & alcohol test and background check
- Required to work outside in extreme weather conditions – both hot and cold
