We are seeking a dynamic and energetic DJ/KJ (karaoke jockey) to energize our events and create unforgettable experiences for our audiences. As a key entertainer, you will be responsible for entering names into the singing rotation, selecting and mixing music, engaging with the crowd, and ensuring seamless audio-visual coordination. Your passion for music, excellent public speaking skills, and ability to connect with diverse audiences will drive the success of each event. Responsibilities
- Enter singer names into rotation
- Ensure that a true rotation is kept (no bumping singers up)
- Curate and mix music playlists that suit the event’s theme and audience preferences, maintaining high energy levels throughout the event
- Engage with attendees through lively public speaking, encouraging participation and dancing to enhance the overall experience
- Operate event audio equipment including sound systems, microphones, speakers, and lighting setups to ensure optimal sound quality and visual effects
- Coordinate with event organizers and clients to understand their vision, special requests, and technical requirements for each occasion
- Manage live sound adjustments during events to maintain audio clarity and balance across different environments
- Set up and break down audio-visual equipment efficiently before and after each event while ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Interact with the crowd actively, reading their energy levels to adapt music selection and presentation style accordingly
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of music mixing techniques, music selection, DJing software, and audio mixing equipment. We will train on our equipment
- Strong public speaking abilities combined with excellent crowd interaction skills to energize audiences of all sizes
- Experience operating event lighting equipment and managing live sound systems in various venues
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, event staff, and attendees
- Technical proficiency in setting up audio-visual equipment including microphones, speakers, lighting rigs, and soundboards
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when transporting equipment safely and efficiently
- Presentation skills that captivate audiences while maintaining professionalism throughout events
